Children between the ages of 0 and 21 years age who are receiving Medicaid or Health Choice benefits, or meet eligibility guidelines (<250% poverty level).

Sliding fee scale based on income for eligible clients without Medicaid or Health Choice coverage.

SERVICES OFFERED

The Public Health Dental Clinic provides the following dental treatment for children who meet the program eligibility requirements:

Preventative Care

Cleaning every 6 months with a fluoride varnish applied to the teeth. Education to parents and children on proper tooth brushing and flossing techniques. Sealants

Clinical Care

Restorations, Crowns, Simple extractions, Emergency/Trauma Care, X-rays, Space Maintainers. Dental Specialty referrals are given when appropriate.

Childrens Dental Clinic

The mission of Davidson County Health Department Childrens Dental Clinic is to to provide treatment of active oral disease, preventative care and oral health education.

Dental disease is the most universal of all diseases. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) tooth decay (dental caries) affects children in the United States more than any other chronic infectious disease. Untreated tooth decay causes pain and infections that may lead to problems; such as eating, speaking, playing, and learning.
